• Eliza Lucas Pinckney was born in 1722 in Antigua and she died in Philedelphia in 1793.
  • When Eliza was in school her favorite subject was botany.
  • At the age of six-teen, when her father went to his job which was army officer, she took over the plantation.
  • She was a very important agriculturalist is South Carolina because she grew 130,000 pounds of Indigo.
  • At the age of twenty two she married a man named Charles Pinckney. Five years later she had four children.
  • Later when she was running the plantation or crops, she taught her sister how to take care of them.
  • She became very popular because she began growing lots of Indigo.
